Animated patterns will move down the staircase at varying speeds (but not too far off from the speed a person would descend) so that the lights and people can “follow each other”

• We had a great deal of trouble getting everything set up. We ran into a wall without having admin access to the production laptops to set up the network config and install DMXking.
• We got around it by setting things up on Zack’s windows laptop, which fortunately still has an ethernet port.

For the first assignment, I’ve chosen to write about a piece of professional photo gear rather than an art product. I’m more excited by industrial rather than artistic pursuits, and this is a cool piece of gear that has a lot to do with the science of colored light.
